Hello! My name is Janell. I am a wife, a mother, and a crafter. I am also a diabetic, among other conditions.
That is where Mouse comes in. Mouse is my Diabetic Alert Service Dog; she is a 5-year-old Bernese Mountain Dog. Mouse is my second diabetic alert dog and I have been training with Mouse since she was 12-weeks old.
Since I’m a creative soul, I feel that the ‘uniform’ for a service dog is bland. The easiest way to spice it up, without detracting from her professionalism, is to accessorize with fun collars and leashes.
Unfortunately, the fun designs and patterns get reserved for the smaller dogs. To get around this issue, I started making my own.
It was my husband that suggested that I start selling them, and Mouse’s Dog Gear was born. It’s a family affair, my son is my inspiration and my husband is my editor. He’s the one that when I feel like something is “not quite right” can say “you need to add this”, or “move this over there”.
If you are new to the service dog world or are simply curious, you have found the right place. In addition to visiting Florida attractions, we will be offering tips and tricks on the best ways to manage these, and similar attractions, with a service dog.
If you have had a service dog for a while, there are always new things to learn and maybe you can share some of your tricks with me.
Please, subscribe to my blog and get ready to go on some adventures.
